Knott’s Scary Farm 2026

There are few things I look forward to more each Halloween season than stepping back into the fog of Knott's Scary Farm. With its familiar streets, returning favorites, and a steady rotation of new scares, the event has a way of making the spooky season feel a little more like home. But I'll be honest: I went into Knott's Scary Farm 2026 with a couple reservations. The promotional AI artwork circulating for the two new mazes, Inked and Unearthed, didn't exactly inspire confidence. When you're someone who loves the artistry and practical creativity of haunted attractions, the marketing surrounding a new experience matters. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, and I was prepared to be a little skeptical.

Thankfully, the actual experience had plenty to prove me wrong. With two new mazes, new entertainment, the return of The Hanging, and a refreshed CarnEVIL scare zone, Knott's Scary Farm 2026 has a lot to explore. Inked: A New Maze Worth Getting to Early

If there's one new maze that completely caught me off guard this year, it's Inked. I went in with low expectations, particularly given the promotional art, but I was entirely blown away by what I found inside. I love that they gave us new icons to be fans of, i love the campy horror approach, and I LOVE anyone with the balls enough to throw shade in the face of Michael Mouse. There's something about horror that doesn't take itself too seriously while still committing to its world, characters, and atmosphere, and this maze really hit that sweet spot for me. I truly cannot express to you how amazing the set design is for this one. I had a truly legendary walk through on the second night with each version of each character and just a talent packed walk through. I think the progression of the story is so fun, easy to read, and just overall a blast of a time.

If you're a fan of campy horror, this is one I would strongly recommend experiencing in its opening year. Knott's mazes can be particularly exciting during their first season, when the sets, effects, and characters are still fresh, and Inked is a maze I'd encourage you to seek out before the season is over. And while it may not be the most scared you have ever been, I guarantee you will have a blast.

My advice: If you're planning a visit to Knott's this year, put Inked at the top of your list.

Unearthed: Another Pleasant Surprise

The other new maze for 2026, Unearthed, also managed to challenge my expectations. Like Inked, this was a maze I wasn't entirely sure about going into the event, mostly because I wasn’t clear on the story we would be journeying through. But once I was inside, I found myself appreciating what it brought to the lineup. This is truly giving Mummy Returns realness, and I’m here for it. The queue itself has thoughtful touches that absolutely add to the atmosphere and storyline. I like how this maze plays a lot with levels, there are HUGE set builds, and lots of actors above eye level. Overall, this one was just okay, but they really swung for the fences in some ways and those details I appreciate.

It's always satisfying when an attraction manages to surprise you, especially when you've gone in expecting to be underwhelmed. One maze I know rarely underwhelms me is Cinema Slasher and she is back for another year. I won’t spoil anything, but just know they have readjusted some of the points of the maze, and our favorite popcorn Stabby has a new home. I thought it was really fun, and while you can tell it is winding down it’s tenure at the Farm, I will love it as long as we have it.

New Entertainment Brings More to the Farm

The mazes aren't the only new additions to Knott's Scary Farm in 2026. This year brings a show in partnership with the Magic Castle, adding a new layer of magic and theatrical entertainment to the event. There's also a new voodoo-inspired show taking over the space where the carnival show previously performed. And, of course, The Hanging has returned. The long-running Knott's Scary Farm staple is back, giving returning visitors another familiar part of the event to look forward to. Whether you're a longtime fan of the show or just curious about what this year's production brings, its return is part of the larger mix of old favorites and new experiences that makes the event what it is.

The Scare Zones Remain the Star of the Show

Let's be honest: As much as I love the mazes, the scare zones are still the star of the show for me. Knott's Scary Farm has always had a special kind of magic in its streets. There's something about wandering through the fog, encountering unexpected creatures, and watching the atmosphere shift around you that makes the event feel like more than a collection of haunted houses.

And this year, the scare zones are back and as perfect as ever. New creatures are roaming, bringing fresh energy to the event, while the reimagined, Mesmer-inspired CarnEVIL scare zone is full of life, movement, and personality. The scare zones are where Knott's really shines. They create the opportunity to simply wander, take in the atmosphere, and let the event unfold around you. You don't necessarily need to be rushing from maze to maze to have a great time here.

Sometimes, the best moments are the ones you stumble into while walking through the fog. Some haunts have really lost the plot in this regard (cough HHN) but Knott’s knows the importance of letting you linger.

Final Thoughts

Knott's Scary Farm 2026 is as perfect as ever, with a VERY fun new maze. Sure, I came in with reservations about the new mazes, but both Inked and Unearthed met or exceeded my expectations, with Inked standing out as the biggest surprise of the night. The new entertainment additions bring something different to the event, The Hanging has returned, and the scare zones continue to be one of the biggest reasons I keep coming back. I'd especially encourage you to experience Inked during its opening year. And if you're someone who loves the atmosphere, roaming creatures, and energy of a great scare zone, Knott's continues to deliver.

The fog is back, the streets are alive, and there's still plenty of fun to be found at the Farm.
